I worry about posting sentences that are too long. Sometimes I break up sentences that I originally intended to be longer because I feel that they’re too long or I worry that someone else might think they’re too long. But why should I worry?

Well, I appreciate your efforts. Not that I don’t often have similar worries about some of my sentences…

I *could* write sentences that long, but the thing is, I stopped punctuating correctly in high school. These days, I use commas for short pauses, and periods for long ones, and I listen to how the sentence plays in my head to hear where to place which.
When I read Julie’s sentence, I heard periods in my head which, apparently, she didn’t.

Harvey, that’s pretty much the way I do it too but sometimes I don’t hear a period for a long time and decide to put one in anyway. Also, I often have a hard time hearing where the commas are really supposed to go.
