I usually try to avoid having power lines in my pictures but sometimes I take the picture anyway even when there are power lines in the way and I sort of like the way this one turned out.

I really into natural shots, and I agree sometimes those powerlines can add a new dimension. Either way, cracking skies.

Great buttermilk sky in the twilight shot with steeple. I’ve mixed feelings about powerlines. On the one hand, they’re ugly as hell. But they are also part of our everyday experience. Does our constant effort to hide/ignore them says something profound about our shame for the industrial world that we live in and depend upon?

I try to avoid power lines, too but now I wonder if I’m making a wrong impression for my children – they’ll remember the power lines but my photos won’t. Interesting to ponder.

    Anyway, love the photo!

They do add a certain something,I like the needle pointing into the sky in your last shot to.
