I dunno….antifreeze is supposed to have a sweet taste (that’s why animals poison themselves drinking it), yet you don’t hear of people consuming antifreeze unless desperate.
And I know, this is probably one of those metaphorical things that I’m trying to approach literally.

I dunno…. lots of people drink alcohol, it’s poisonous and in most cases tastes terrible.

That’s why they mix it with other stuff. I was tempted to mention coffee but people might start throwing things.
