Candy Houses

December 8th, 2010

My husband’s employer’s annual Christmas party was this past Saturday. It was at the Chateau on the Lake Hotel in Branson, Missouri. There was this candy village in the lobby. (I’m pretty sure it did not contain any gingerbread.)

Here’s a closeup of one of the houses. You can see gummy bears, M&Ms, licorice, pretzel sticks, mints, ribbon candy and nuts, among other things.

Here’s part of the church. (It’s not visible in the first picture.) The roof tiles are Frosted Mini-Wheats.

There are two more photos of this village in my Photostream.

That is really cute! I never have the patience to do things like that but they always look cool.

I don’t have the talent. I could stick pieces of candy on a gingerbread house but I have no idea how to begin building the house.

I made one when I was a kid, I don’t think I was even 10 years old. Instead of gingerbread, I used graham crackers for the walls. That seems more structurally sound to me than gingerbread.

    I remember that.

This is the sort of stuff that I don’t have any talent in. My sister, however, built a gingerbread skyscraper for her senior project.
