Multicultural Commercial

January 19th, 2011

I was looking for a very strange Taco Mayo commercial that has been airing lately. I didn’t find it but I did find this one, which is very similar. The one I was looking for has a woman singing, same tune, different words, same hick accent. But that’s not all – notice the voice over guy’s accent. (Scottish?)

Disclaimer: I don’t recall if I have ever eaten at a Taco Mayo (maybe once, years ago) so this is not an endorsement.

I have actually eaten at two Taco Mayos. *sigh* I had forgotten what the food at the first one was like when I wandered into the second one a few years later. I don’t think I’ll do that again. *heh*

    Interesting commercial, though.

I find it culturally interesting that the man-pig is singing about things like taxes being lowered and the end of pollution, and the woman-pig is singing about healthier food and losing weight.

Taco Mayo ads are always strange, but I preferred the one with the mariachi band that went all Who on their instruments to the one with the flying pigs.

Follow the link below to our website – you can see the full collection of ‘strange’ Taco Mayo spots including our flying female singing pig which is featured this month.

    Enjoy!
