We didn’t work on the kitchen any last night. We’re still waiting on the Formica. There are other parts of the project we could have worked on but sometimes you just need an evening off. I am impatient for it all to be done. I guess that goes without saying, but it seems we go through phases – some phases where it seems like we’re making amazing progress and others where it seems like we’re stuck at a point and it’s going to be “forever” before we have a complete kitchen again. Right now we’re in one of those stuck phases.

I’ve slacked off a little bit on the sewing and quilting. It’s not exactly that the kitchen remodel is getting in the way; it’s just that it seems to be occupying a lot of my head-space and it’s hard to mentally set it aside and do something else. I did do quite a bit yesterday though. I finished a really cute blouse. It would have been much cuter if I had found this pattern back when I still wore a size eight but it’s still pretty and feminine even in my size. We make the best of what we’re stuck with. I’ll try to get someone to take a picture of me modeling it.

I need to get back to the jacket I started a while back but I’m not in the mood for it so I cut out a simple denim jumper, which I really sort of need, unlike a lot of my sewing projects. I need to do more quilting and more work on the next top. Cutting the pieces is my least favorite part of quilting. I’m a terrible procrastinator when it comes to that part of it. I can always find something else to work on.

I got distracted for a few minutes looking at the Kwik Sew website. I need another new blouse pattern. Yes I do. I have fabric in the stash that doesn’t like any of the patterns I already have. But which one would it like? Hmmm….

By the way, I like Kwik Sew’s website, especially that they give you a full size view of the pattern envelope. (Click on Fabric requirements, Backview) Are you listening, SewingPatterns.com? I like SewingPatterns.com because of their huge selection. They have brands that I had never even heard of before. But the website is really sucky.
