I finally took my poor old kitty to the vet. Now I feel bad about procrastinating. I was putting it off because of the decision I might have to make but it turns out it’s not a big deal and she’s probably going to be fine. She has an infection of the pancreas and it’s screwing up her enzyme levels so she can’t digest food, so no matter how much she eats she’s still starving. Antibiotics should take care of it. All the other things that typically go wrong with old cats – kidneys, glucose – are perfectly normal, right in the middle of the normal range, in fact.

I’ve always said she’ll probably stick around until she’s over 20 years old just because she’s so annoying. It’s looking like I might be right about that. She’s such a pretty little thing though and I’m used to having her around.
