Work has slowed down but continues. We have a completely functional kitchen but it’s not quite “ready for its closeup” yet. Mostly it’s just finishing touches that we have still to do. We have to finish putting up the bead-board paneling in the dining area and we want to do something about our ugly ceiling, then of course there will be crown molding and finally the decorating – putting up a few pictures and such.
I bought some new canisters this past weekend. The large ones are not exactly what I had in mind but they’re nice and they will work. I bought them at Garden Ridge in Tulsa. That’s a fantastic place. It makes me wish I had a huge Victorian farmhouse that I could fill full of stuff. I went there with my daughter-in-law Saturday but didn’t get to spend as much time as we would have liked. Didn’t buy anything but then I got to thinking about the canisters and went back Sunday and bought them.

I would love to remodel this kitchen, but being a rental, it’s not possible to do it at the level I’d like. I mean that level that starts, “Well, first we get some C-4.”

Our whole house really needs the C-4 treatment but since we don’t want to be paying for a new one til we’re in our 80′s we decided to just slap some lipstick on it and pretend it’s good enough.

C-4 isn’t needed for a remodel, and can be expensive/difficult to acquire. Bulldozers can be rented. And are arguably just as fun.

… and probably wouldn’t alarm the neighbors as much.

I don’t know… Fire up that D-11 (Google it, the D-11 Dozer has a blade nearly as long as a house) at 3am and people are certainly going to be alarmed.
Much like fish, in the world of construction it seems there is always a bigger machine.

Since this has gone off topic anyway it seems like a good time to mention that we think we have figured out what all the loud construction noises we heard at the neighbor’s (the rich snooty people across the road) a while back was all about. It looks like they’re putting in an in-ground pool.

Well… I hope they called 811/Okie before they dug the pool out. You’d be surprised how often a big twisted pair or fiber cable runs right through a horse pasture. (Interesting, Firefox says “Fiber” is spelled wrong)

Firefox is retarded.
