Kes 199? – 2011

May 31st, 2011

Our poor old cat, Kes, died Sunday morning.

Cat on back porch rail.

To be honest, I’m mostly just feeling relief that it’s all over with. What I enjoyed most about her was looking out a window and seeing a pretty little calico cat sitting against the south side of a tree trunk, or in the grass in front of the flowers, or on the back porch as in the picture above, taken last summer. I think, for a long time, I will still look out the window half expecting to see her somewhere.

I sort of lost track of exactly how old she was. We got her as a kitten sometime in the late 90′s.

So sorry. She was a very pretty kitty.

You have my sympathies. Though I have to say I understand the feeling of relief when an animal passes after having been sick for a while.

You’ll no doubt see her for some time to come: she surely left a Kes-shaped hole in your heart.

(Didn’t the Ocampa have something of an abbreviated lifespan?)

:( It is always sad to lose a cat. My condolences.

    How awful. I’m so sorry.

Thanks everyone. To be honest, she was never one of my favorite cats. She had a rather annoying personality but she was with us for over 12 years so naturally I got used to her and it just seems a little odd to not see her around.

CG – Yes. I had forgotten about that. I never did really get into Voyager. I watched the first two or three seasons then we moved to a location where couldn’t get it anymore.

Aw…sorry to hear. Annoying or not you get used to them. My mom’s old cat was he same way. Prickly & obnoxious and had not much use for humans but…

Losing a pet–especially a cat–is never a pleasant thing, no matter how annoying it might have been when it was alive. My condolences as well.

Yeah… I do miss seeing her around.
