Because It’s Something To Do

January 3rd, 2012

From Look! A Baby Wolf!: “Take the first sentence from the first post of each month of 2011. That’s your year in review.”

January: Good morning to you on the first day of this fine new year.

February: When you turn on the TV and turn to the local evening news and the first thing you see is the weather guy saying, “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” you know it’s not going to be good.

March: Sometimes my mind does weird things.

April: I’m not a big fan of April Fools day. (This was actually the 2nd post in April but the first was a quotes post, not something I wrote.)

May: The last few days have been really good.

June: Our kitchen remodel is essentially finished except for some baseboards and crown molding and – the big thing – the ceiling. (Cheating a bit with this one. That’s the 2nd sentence in that post but the first was irrelevant to the actual topic.)

July: My roof? I’m afraid so.

August: I couldn’t resist saving this line from one of the spam comments I deleted this morning (I’m sort of disappointed to have to post this one. I’d rather it was more representative of August.)

September: Oklahoma City man mows lawn at 4:30 AM, gets arrested for disturbing the peace.

October: I’ve been looking at wallpaper again. (All this is starting to make me think I should give more thought to my first sentences, especially in the first posts of the month.)

November: I bought a new pressure cooker.

December: I am starting to get a bit annoyed at Harry’s Law.

So that is the year that was. An interesting year and not really a bad year, except for the way it ended.

The January to February had a story line going on there.
