You guys missed the lady in the conversion van yesterday. She didn’t realize the lane was ending until she had hit the jersey barrier. So then she goes all the way across the open lane and almost into my truck. I hold my ground and she swerves back across the still completely open lane into the jersey barrier, once again. I got some open space in front of me and got away from that wacko as fast as possible. She seemed really intent on whatever was on her phone screen.
Then last night, I had the joy of watching a late model Mercedes take out about 20 yards of that metal barrier that’s placed before concrete bridge dividers and other solid objects. As he went swerving past my wife and I, you could see the cellphone glare on his face. I can’t imagine tearing up a $90,000 car because of a text message.

Not to mention that even our hunter-gatherer brains can’t really cope with driving AND talking on the phone at the same time….
