   Magnificent. The Freiburg Baroque Orchestra! I was watching this and thought it was kind of strange. Then it hit me. They are playing on period instruments. The bows are strange looking. This is a great ensemble. I only wish I could play like this….

   What’s amazing to me is this is 200 years old and (to me) it still sounds fresh and modern.

   There are features in this music that modern pop musicians could not even attempt, let alone perform. Thanks for this post. It brightened up my Saturday night.

   If I were a rich, rich woman, I would be a patron for a group like this – hire some good musicians who love playing this kind of music, and then have them play it different places – give chamber concerts, maybe set up in a student union building some lunchtime and play for people, maybe give special concerts for people who are hospitalized/grieving/going through difficulties.

   I love Bach so much. He is one of the reasons I can never totally condemn the human race. We can’t be all that bad if we produced someone with inspiration like Bach’s.
